unit energy - energias renováveis, S.A.(UEER) owns and operates since July 1998 near Vila do Bispo in the Algarve four wind turbines ENERCON E 40 with 500 kW each.

Photo: Eucalyptus trees partly incinerated by forest fires have been taken out to improve wind flow. These trees are ecologically noxious by contributing to a drawdown. In the free area a photo voltaic farm BVS 1 with 100 kWp is under construction 2004

Windwin has taken over all shares of Unit Energy Portugal SGPS, S. A. (UEP) on 1 July 2003, mother company of UEER, who is now operating additional generators for 10 MW power supply nearby. These are seven Fuhrländer wind turbines MD 77 with nominal 1.5 MW each and 77 m rotordiameter on 65 m hub height, which are feeding into the grid since 12 November 2003.

All permits were available 2002 after approx. five years of expensive development procedure. A substation and 60 kV overhead line with a capacity of 20 MW was build up, just in preparation of the enlargement of the wind farms. We intend to build in the nearby BispoVento III project further 10MW.

The photo above shows our seven MD 77 with 1.5 MW nominal power each. They are positioned 1000m west of our four Enercon E 40 - 500 kW - which operate since 1998 as wind farm BispoVento I (former "Picos Verdes").

Fuhrländer MD 77 wind turbines are well-proven licensed models from German manufacturer Repower. The developers and licensees are highly experienced in that field and this type is one of the most produced wind turbine generators in the world.

Further background:
Wintus GmbH will take over all UEP shares from its sister company Windwin KG, who erected the park in a two years difficult period with local problems. Wintus is part of Putzmeister Holding GmbH, which also owns all shares of the globally successful Putzmeister AG supplying concrete pumps, mortar machines, industrial pumps, Dynajet, water cleaning equipment etc. Its founder owns all shares of Wintus KG. He transferred all shares of Putzmeister Holding to the Karl-Schlecht-Foundations (for details see www.karl-schlecht.de).

Parts or shares of the BispoVento wind and solar farms will be sold to Portuguese investors starting 2005.
