Solar
farm BispoSol
Old
Idea Revitalised
On the ground of the wind farm
BispoVento I (former Picos Verdes) four wind turbines Enercon E‑40/500
are producing clean energy.UEER is evaluating now
a many years old license to feed photovoltaic electricity into the
grid. This was permitted in 1997 as part of an ecological power plant
called
CINER. This
project (including hydrogen generation) had the objective to feed day
and night minimum 500 kW into the local grid of the Algarve. It was
never realised
among earlier owners, due to turbulences.

UEER starts in 2004 with the first
solar farm, consisting of nearly 370 photovoltaic elements, producing
40 kWp.
They will have different configurations to
evaluate which construction will give the best profitability, based on
local conditions.
1.
30 kWp are built
with fixed lines using 30° inclined panels. SQ150 modules from
Shell Solar

2. 5 kWp are fixed on single-axis active
tracking systems (DEGER TOPtraker)

3. 5 kWp are installed on dual-axis active
tracking systems (DEGERtraker EL)

The efficiency and profitability
of these three different configurations can be compared immediately after
initial operation.
Presumed getting the relevant
permits, UEER plans to expand this solar park on the ground of the wind
farms
BispoVento 1 and
BispoVento
2. The first licences for BispoSol 2 (another 100
kWp) are already granted.
Actually BispoSol is still one of
the first photovoltaic farms in Portugal having a valid grid permit. All
other installations in Portugal are insular applications.
